Community Development & Social Protection

Lasting rural development requires informed, organised and inclusive communities. Families experiencing poverty, disability, displacement, disaster or social exclusion may also require additional support to access essential services and opportunities.

TSRD helps communities establish and strengthen local institutions through which people can identify common challenges, plan solutions, manage resources and engage with public systems.

Social protection initiatives focus on connecting vulnerable households with information, entitlements, services and emergency assistance while preserving dignity and encouraging long-term self-reliance.

Our Approach

TSRD follows a participatory process in which community members identify priorities, contribute to planning and take responsibility for implementation and monitoring. Local leaders, volunteers, women’s groups and youth are encouraged to participate.
