Mahila Kisan Sahsaktikaran Pariyojna (MKSP
a sub component of National rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) is being
implementing by Tagore Society for rural Development(TSRD). The project has
been funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India
through Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), the State
Rural livelihood Mission (SRLM) as state Nodal Agency. The sanction letter
of the department is K-11034/03/2013/MKSP/PAC dated 17th October’2013. TSRD
has entered in a MoU with JSLPS for implementation of the project.
The title of the project is “Livelihood Security and well being of rural
women through Self Help Group in Patamda dn Boram block of East-Singhbhum
district of Jharkhand”. The Patamda and Boram block of East-Singbbhum
district, Jharkhand is the area of operation under the project. The project
is being implementing by the Project Office of TSRD situated at Macha, Post-Birra,
Patamda, East-Singbhum, Jharkhand. The contact person is at the Head office
Level is Dr. Dipankar Roy, Director and Mr Nandalal Baksi, Coordinator at
the Project level.
Total 2500 poor women farmers will be the beneficiaries spreading in 50
villages of the two blocks. The target families are belongs to SC, ST,
backward and most disadvantages section of the community.
The vision of the project is ensuring
livelihood of socio-economically backward community of Jharkhand through
farm sector growth with greater involvement of women in decision making and
sustainable agriculture process with developed skill, entrepreneurship
capacity and collective initiatives towards reducing drudgery of most
disadvantaged women.
The broad objectives of the project:
All the targeted 2500 families would be enabled to enhance their annual
income by Rs. 20590.00 by the end of the project period.
To promote sustainable agriculture based livelihood opportunities for 2500
families.
To enhance the skill and performance level of 2500 women farmers in
sustainable agriculture.
All the 2500 families would attain the round the year food security from
their own production.
To reduce the drudgery for women through initiating intensive farm
mechanization and use of improve technology.
To increase the access of market by women farmers through Producer’s
Collective.
Sanction Budget:
The total project cost of the project is Rs. 131.87 Lakhs. The MoRD funding
would be Rs. 98.90 Lakhs(75% of the total project cost) and GoJ will
contribute Rs. 32.97 Lakhs( 25% of the total project cost).
The period of the project is for 3(three years).
At the field level the community institution i.e village level activity
based producer group will form with the membership of poor women belong to
SHG. The producer group will be facilitated by the village level Community
Resource Person (CRP)& Para Professionals(PP) and they will be guided by
project level subject matter specialist (SMS).
The major activities of the project:
• Mahila Kisan profiling and baseline & end line study
• Value Chain studies
• Mobilization and promotion of producer’s Groups, Cluster and Federation
• Training and capacity building of project Staffs, CRPs, Para-professionals
and women farmers focused on institution building, sustainable agriculture
practices and animal husbandry. .
• Exposure visits of Staffs, CRPs, PPs, women farmers to immersion sites and
best practice sites.
• Critical Input support to producers group and federation.
• Crop Intensification and diversification through Sustainable Agriculture
practices and improve management practices of small ruminants.
• Enhancement of Farm mechanization to reduce women drudgery
• Knowledge management through documentation and dissimination of best
practices.
• Public disclosure and Social audits
